I urge anyone who comes accross this blog to check out another blog called: Collect 365 Moments. (Linked) A friend of mine (Delilah) just started this project where she will capture one random moment every day for the next year and will post the picture on the blog. I think its a pretty cool idea. It would be interesting to see what kinds of pictures we will see everyday and the whole collection at year end. She just started this two days ago, so there are currently only two pics. Both awesome pics...I might add.
We take so many things for granted these days. We never stop to just enjoy something like a random moment because we are so used to them that they no longer have value to us. Yet its these little moments that we dont even think about that make life meaningful. I know this sounds like the whole "stop and smell the roses" speech that is so overused and so corny, but the reality is: when was the last time you literally just stopped to smell the roses? When was the last time that you were so much in tune with your reality that it felt like a fantasy? When was the last time you stopped something you were doing and actually thought about what it was you were doing?
It is so easy to beleive that the world is simply you and your sorroundings, but there is so much out there that we have yet to see. And there are so many things that we have seen so many times that we are desensitized. I think that project Collect 365 Moments will be a great way to see every day things from a perspective that is not your own and because of that, I beleive, that eventually all moments will mean something again.

Day 24-A Photo of Something That Shows Where You Live
Does this mean a pic of the city? State? County? I currently live in Bronxville, which really is Yonkers because I dont live in Bronxville village but my address and zip code say Bronxville, so thats where I live.
I dont have pics of the area where I live, so Ill just put up a pic of my apt because technically, isnt that where I live? I love my apt even though there are things I want to change about it, I still really like it. Its a co-op and I am hoping that with some luck, I can purchase it soon.
My "dining room"-its small because its a little alcove right at the entrance of the apt
My kitchen-also very small and probably my least favorite room in the house. If I buy the apt, I will have the kitchen remodeled and made more modern
My Living Room-one sided view. Its a pretty big living room and I really like it. We spend a lot of time in here so its pretty comfy
I really love this location because it almost feels like a city but its a suburb. I live in an area full of co-ops and right by the Metro North. There are always people strolling around. I have a Starbucks and a Dunkin Donuts, as well as a 7-11 and CVS right down the block from me. A few more blocks down and I am in the village of Bronxville, which is so beautiful and I absolutely love it.

Day 17 — An Art Piece (Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, etc)
I like art but Im not a fanatic or anything like that. I love to visit museums and view modern art and things of that nature, but I think that I mostly enjoy photography. There are some very beautiful pictures taken by people with a lot of talent.
One of my favorite photographs that I consider art is the one below:
I just love how it has a macabre feel to it. Its mysterious and intriguing becuase I dont know what is going on. Is this girl merely enjoying a nice day out in a lake with her friends? Is she attempting to commit suicide? Why does he seem to have a nightgown on? Or is it a flowy summer dress? Is she running away from someone? Was she raped and killed and thrown into the water?
So many possibilities with no answers, and yet its so beautiful to just wonder and never know...

Day 10-Photo of You Taken Over 10 Years Ago
I dont really have much digital photos from 10 years back, so I really didnt have a picture to put up for this one. My godsister, who has been obsessed with taking pictures her entire life, had plenty of old and quite embarrassing pictures of me that I just cant bear to share with the world. First opportunity I get, I will destroy the pictures.
I did, however, find a fairly decent pic that I like from almost 10 years back. This pic will have to do. We were somewhere in Queens, visiting my godsister's ex-husbands parents. I beleive I was 14 or 15 in this pic. Im the one in the middle.
Boy have times changed.....

Day 8- A Photo That Makes You Angry/Sad
The picture I chose makes me both angry and sad...more sad than angry though. This was the last picture my family took with my grandfather before he died. He came to New York in Jan 2009 to see if he could get better treatment for his lung cancer. They told him there was no hope and that he was going to die. He ended up passing away in March 2009.
If you look at my grandfathers face (he is the one in the middle), he looks defeated. The look on his face is that of a man who knows he is going to die and everytime I look at it, it tugs at my heart strings. I cant imagine what it must be like to know that your time on this earth is limited and I cant help but wonder what was going through his head at that point.
Now the reason why this picture also makes me mad is because I have one brother and one sister, but you only see my brother there. I cant remember why my sister didnt come to see him but it makes me so angry to know that she wasnt there. I guess it wasnt important enough for her or I guess she didnt take his illness seriously. Still, the point is that this is an incomplete family photo. And there is nothing we can do to change it.

Day 7-A Photo That Makes You Happy
These are my two cousins, Joshira and Raquel (we call her Bibi.) I think I took this picture last summer. They were playing outside and they started singing some song that I couldnt understand the words to. They got so into it and started dancing and just having such a good time. Everytime I look at the pictures I took, it makes me so happy because they are so happy. I love the way their hair is up in the air and I love the look on their face. They dont have it easy and I just feel so good to know that they were so happy here and that I got to capture it on camera.
